Hello there, Time to sell my Supercharged Civic Type R, unfortunately, I I have owned it for just over 2 and a half years and bought it from a dealer with full service history and low miles (59,000 then). Since then I started by taking it to John Banks Honda where they carried out a major service ( oil, filters, spark plugs, valve clearances etc) and a vehicle health check, as I tend to do when I buy a new car to ensure I have a fresh base to go with. From then I did a few bits here and there till I decided I wanted to make it something special, from which that mean't off to Torque Developments International in Essex near Lakeside, after having an initial chat and dyno run with AmD next door to check the engine and compression was healthy for the go ahead, from which it was ( Dyno Graph provided with sale before conversion ). Jackson Racing Supercharger conversion was carried out including supply, fit and tuning including the manifold and engine mount bushes to go with the conversion ( at a cost of around £5350 ) which are listed beneath making a total @ THE HUBS HP figure of 243.9 ( On Dyno Graph). Mentioned after that 18% losses come in to the hubs from flywheel so your looking circa 290HP at the Flywheel on 8PSI, not bad considering I requested a sensible tune for everyday driving! Following this unfortunately my priorities changed tending to my work and since then the number of miles done has fallen and fallen to what is now 0! This is why it is being sold as a new owner is required to look after it hopefully in the same way I have. But hey that's enough of the story let me give you a run down, GOOD POINTS: (Took it for a run this afternoon ( 27th Oct) and was a fantastic one, will be missed!) 2002 Supercharged Honda Civic Type R UK Spec in Satin Silver 89,376 miles ( will not change now, depending on test drives ) MOT = May 2014 Tax = Just put 6 months on for the new owner! Bodywork = Fantastic for 2002, naturally a few chips and marks here and there but I am a site manager for a detailing company so I'm going to be rather fussy! Look at the pictures for an insight. Mechanically = Usual Honda, never let me down ( bit like my last 2 others ) Tyres = 4mm on both rears (Cooper Racing), 5mm both fronts ( Toyo Proxes T1 Sport) Always run on Shell V-Power since 59,000 miles Loooooooooads of paperwork and history! Air Con Still in Use New windscreen Fitted Still returns 300 miles on a tank with sensible driving ( always and only run on V Power Shell as this is what it was mapped on anyway! ) Front Bumper Resprayed with Hard Lacquer Clearcoat at my workplace New Windscreen Side Garnish Assembly ( Yes it's called that haha! ) Original Spare wheel and tool kit in boot Regularly Serviced and maintained ( usually every 2-3000 miles by myself and fellow Technicians at my workplace since Honda servicing was left after the Major service using Fuchs Titan Pro-S 5w 40 Oil and HAMP filter ) I think the oil will still show clear on the dipstick to be honest. Modifications: KnN Typhoon Induction System HKS Hi-Power 409 Catback Exhaust DC Sports 4-2-1 Manifold Lowered approx 35-40mm on Skunk2 Springs wheels are 16” rota slipstreams with federal rs race semi slick tyres tyres are like new Engine Bushes/Mounts uprated Jackson Racing Supercharger Kit (8PSI), ancillaries etc included K-Pro Engine Management System (Launch Control not activated) Red Stuff Pads front and rear Front Discs grooved around 10 slots (drilled have a habit of cracking) Rear Discs grooved around 40 slots New NSF Caliper ( all painted in red) New rear anti roll bar link (MOT Advisory) New Track Rod End (MOT Advisory) just had brand new battery brand new ngk spark plugs 'NOTBOTHERING' Nurburgring Sticker on rear of car, makes people laugh and catches them out :) White Rear Numberplate Bulb Upgrade INTERIOR: As Mr Honda Intended it! I have the Radio Code in the log book file too! brand new mats no wear on the driver seat unlike most BAD POINTS: Few Chips here and there mainly on bonnet Appears to be a stress mark next to the front numberplate after the bumper was respayed, this was probably my fault when it was refitted! Key FOB'S work fine but could probably do with being replaced Sometimes on starting the common problem of the starter motor teeth catching on the flywheel can be heard very quickly, this has never phased me or never concerned me after reading the research towards it, it is a temperamental issue that I wouldn't even regard as a problem, it makes no difference to starting the car. All in all there is so much to talk about with this car, I must say however it is very loud at full chat but you can have a conversation in it perfectly fine without shouting at 70MPH and upto mid throttle, anything after that and you have to enjoy the whine of the supercharger and exhaust noise ( people say it sounds like a bike! ) I can also send you a walk around video of the car if required showing when it was just detailed at my workplace, so you can see it at its full potential!
